Nello
Giansiracusa

Melbourne
guitarist Nello Giansiracusa (pictured with American jazz
guitarist John Scofield) attended and graduated at the world's
most famous music school, the Berklee College of Music in Boston
USA.
Whilst there he befriended, amongst others, Pat Metheny, Steve
Swallow and Mick Goodrick and lay the foundations for a successful
musical career which has seen him perform in many top venues
around the globe.
On his return from the States Nello was requested by the national
broadcaster, then known as the Australian Broadcasting Commission,
to write arrangements for the ABC Melbourne Show Band conducted by
the late Brian May. The arrangements included popular songs and
also a number of Nello’s own compositions all recorded at the ABC
studios.
One of Nello's earliest musical experiences was to eventually
develop into a long association with the popular Duo Moreno Combo
which featured the brothers Sandro (late) and Cesare Moreno who
had been discovered whilst performing in Rome by none other than
Sir Reginald Ansett.
The latter promptly engaged them to delight guests at his Hayman
Island Resort in Far North Queensland and along the years Nello
was to become a frequent performer at this world renowned award
winning island paradise.
Apart from performing in the most exclusive night spots in his
hometown Melbourne, including Crown Casino, Nello has also been
resident musician or part of show bands in just about every corner
of Australia from the Gold Coast to Adelaide, Darwin (several
years stint at Darwin Casino), Perth (lengthy residency at the
famous La Tenda Night Club) and.....well, the list could go on and
on.
Nello is currently performing in various venues including
occasional stints at the exclusive Yarra Valley Lodge in the
Melbourne suburb of Chirnside Park.
